Oi oi,
I had plans to head to the velodrome bike swap this weekend with a friend from work but her plans changed. Is anyone passionate about the idea of splitting a philly car share ride and heading up, or eager to find another person to split gas? I'd be up for getting a van and tossing muh bike in the back, and going for the ride that starts later in the day. I am mostly quiet, pleasantly sarcastic, and I make a mean pb&j for the road.

I considered riding there and determined that was totally stupid, so NO CRACKS ABOUT BIKING TO T'TOWN. Bzzzt! I hear you!

Helmet wearing while biking is a hot-button fashion and comfort issue. There are people close to me who are loathe to walk their bikes without protective gear, and others who put themselves at astronomically high risk of injury every day and ride capless. I wear a helmet and refuse to feel like a dork.

What is it that's moving me this way? My new bicycle is an object, a consumer product, a means of transportation. There are lots of things about anthropomorphising in such a way that are really fucked up, but I'm pulled to it very strongly, so I'm letting myself get down and silly with it just to see what's there. I parsed a little bit of it earlier tonight with another bike lover:
